Abstract

Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is one of the economic data that can be used to evaluate the performance of economic development of a region (province and district/city). This data set also be used for other purposes, such as the basic for economic models improvement in order to formulate policy, velocity of money, the financial deepening, tax assessment, the study on export and import and so on. According to macroeconomic theory, estimation of GRDP can be done through three approaches, namely: production approach/supply side (GRDP by Industrial Origin/industry), expenditure approach/final demand (GRDP by expenditure) and the income approach (GRDP by income). In theory, the three approaches of estimation will produce the same GRDP figures. This publication specifically addresses the GRDP by expenditure/final demand approach.
