Riau Islands Governor Officially Recorded in Initial Data Collection of 2026 Economic Census

Tanjungpinang, June 15, 2026 — BPS-Statistics has officially started door-to-door data collection for 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) today, Monday (15/6). Marking the start of this major event in the region, initial data collection was carried out directly at residence of Riau Islands Governor, H. Ansar Ahmad, S.E., M.M. Considering that the Governor is administratively recorded as a resident of Tanjungpinang Municipality, the data collection process was conducted directly by field officers from BPS-Statistics Tanjungpinang Municipality.

This initial data collection on Riau Islands Governor serves as a first step as well as an example for wider community. Following this, census officers will begin visiting all business actors from various sectors within Tanjungpinang Municipality to collect accurate, complete, and reliable economic data.

BPS also urged the entire community and business actors to make SE2026 a success by implementing "TIR" movement, namely: Accept (Terima) arrival of census officers, Fill (Isi) data correctly, and do not worry because Confidentiality (Rahasia) of data is maintained.

This initial data collection step is an important part in presenting comprehensive data references. The resulting economic data will later be used to understand real economic conditions, as well as to support formulation of more targeted regional development policies and planning.
