Based on Law No. 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics, BPS is the leading sector in sectoral statistics development as a form of developing the National Statistical System (SSN) and supporting development. According to Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, it contains the need for the use of data through village information systems in the process of better village development. Currently, villages/sub-districts are no longer considered as objects of development, but as subjects and spearheads of development in improving community welfare. Therefore, availability of accurate and accountable village/sub-district data is very necessary. BPS plays an important role in making this happen through the Statistics Love Village Program (CANTIK).

On April 17, 2025, Mayor of Tanjungpinang, Lis Darmansyah, has declared Tanjung Ayun Sakti Village, Bukti Bestari District as 2025 CANTIK Village representing Tanjungpinang Municipality. This declaration signifies the great attention and support of Tanjungpinang Municipality government to the development of statistics in Tanjungpinang Municipality. He hopes that the synergy between BPS and Tanjungpinang Municipality Government will always be maintained so that it can provide accurate data and provide benefits for the development of Tanjungpinang Municipality.

Located at the BPS-Statistics of Tanjungpinang Municipality Office, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, a discussion activity was held to determine the work plan for the 2025 CANTIK Village in Tanjungpinang Municipality. This event was attended by Assistant II for Economy and Development of Tanjungpinang Municipality, Elfiani Sandri, who said that collaboration and commitment are important in the success of this program and realizing local government programs both in the long and short term. The availability of data from the level to the village level is very important, but it needs to be noted that the data must be of high quality and provide benefits for regional development.

Meanwhile, Head of BPS-Statistics of Tanjungpinang Municipality, Yulia Tri Mardani, said that based on the mandate of Presidential Regulation No. 39 of 2019, BPS as the Statistical Data Coach is tasked with fostering the implementation of One Data Indonesia (SDI), therefore Sectoral Statistics Development activities are carried out in various ways, one of which is CANTIK Village. In addition, BPS Tanjungpinang Municipality in 2025 make an innovation in improving statistical literacy in Tanjungpinang Municipality through GesitPinang, Tanjungpinang Municipality Statistical Literacy Movement. This program is expected to be able to increase understanding of data and how to utilize  available data in various lines of life of Tanjungpinang Municipality people, used as a basis for planning, implementation, and evaluation. In addition to CANTIK Village, GesitPinang program is also applied to the implementation of Sectoral Statistics Development for Regional Apparatus Organizations of Tanjungpinang Municipality Government. Increased literacy of statists in statistical literacy is expected to be a driver in realizing Tanjungpinang Cinta Statistik.
