GesitPinang: Improving Community Statistical Literacy in Tanjungpinang Municipality

In 2025, BPS-Statistics of Tanjungpinang Municipality create a new program for Sectoral Statistics Development named GesitPinang, an acronym of Statistical Literacy Movement of BPS Tanjungpinang Municipality. This program is prepared to carry out the duties of BPS as a Data Supervisor with a focus on improving statistical literacy not only to OPDs within the Tanjungpinang Municipality Government but also to the wider community.

            One of the activities that has been carried out is GesitPinang at Subdistricts Level Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang) in Tanjungpinang. Head of BPS Tanjungpinang Municipality, Yulia Tri Mardani, was pleased to be one of the main speakers in each village by presenting a variety of materials to improve community literacy, especially Musrenbang participants consisting of community leaders and head of Local Environment Unit.

            The material presented aims to increase people's statistical literacy related to data produced by BPS and some activities carried out by BPS Tanjungpinang Municipality in 2025. The material contains:

a.    Explanation of Official Statistics

b.    Submission of data on social conditions of Tanjungpinang Municipality, especially employment and poverty

c.     Overview of sub-district data

d.    Socialization of BPS-Statistics of Tanjungpinang Municipality activities in 2025

e.    Socialization of data dissemination and BPS services in Tanjungpinang Municipality
